Boat trips - Catamaran and rib trips, island hopping on the Firth of Forth, seabird safaris, landing on the Bass Rock, a ferry across to Fife, fishing cruises or outings to spot puffins, gannets, seals and more. 

Belhaven Fruit Farm - Pick your own fruit, or visit the shop, a celebration of the county's food and drink, with craft gins and ciders and a popular cafe.

Dunbar Swimming Pool - A rainy day favourite, with a wave machine and flume.

East Links Family Park - A fun day out for all the family, East Links is a farm-themed activity park with everything from crazy golf, farm animals and a ball blast arena, to a train safari and go kart track.

Fishing - Whether freshwater or sea fishing, beginner or master angler, you've plenty to choose from.

Foxlake Adventures - Guaranteed fun, from wake boarding and rope courses to zip trails and segways.

Golf - This is Scotland's Golf Coast, with over 21 courses, including Open Championship venue Muirfield, where you can play links and parkland golf alongside stunning beaches and rolling countryside.

Horse riding - From indoor arenas to spectacular beach rides, East Lothian offers a range of riding opportunities for all levels.

Surfing - From beginners to the more adventurous, East Lothian offers a range of surfing, bodyboarding, stand up paddling and coasteering, as well as tours and trips along the beautiful and varied coastline.

Viarama - Blast into space, drive a racing car, or sink deep beneath the ocean with Virtual Reality.

Beaches - Over 40 miles of glorious coastline and award-winning beaches, including Yellowcraigs, Belhaven, Seacliff, Gullane, Thorntonloch and Whitesands.

Brunton Theatre - Quality music, theatre, dance, comedy, children's shows and film, all year round.

Glenkinchie Distillery - Take a tour of the distillery, visit the exhibition, and enjoy a tasting of our local whisky or a wider range of malts from around Scotland.

Hailes Castle - Our very own local castle, this is a well-tended ruin tucked away in a beautiful setting beside the River Tyne, that's played an important role in the nation's history.

Lammermuir Hills - A remote and lofty patchwork of walks and cycle routes, only miles from the coastal towns and villages of East Lothian, but a world away.

Lennoxlove - Barely a mile from our door, this ancient fortress and ancestral seat of the Dukes of Hamilton hosts a collection of amazing artefacts detailing its influential role in our country's history.

Musselburgh Racecourse - Enjoy a day at the races.

National Museum of Flight - Red Arrows, fighter jets and Concorde - a must for airplane enthusiasts.

Newhailes House and Gardens - A stunning 17th-century Palladian villa bursting with historic details, woodland walks, a playpark and a cafe.

Scottish Seabird Centre - a five-star, interactive wildlife adventure based in nearby North Berwick.

Tantallon Castle - A formidable and picturesque ruin on a commanding coastal location, this castle has everything from battlements, towers and ghosts, to prison, postern and privy.

The John Muir Way - 134 miles of walking and cycling route that crosses the country to end in Dunbar, at the birthplace of the famous environmentalist and 'father of national parks'.

Traprain Law - Our very own local landmark, visible from the cottages. A short climb to the summit reveals an extensive hill fort with amazing, panoramic views. Check out the 1919 Traprain silver hoard in the National Museum.
